Why Electronic waste recycling?

The DocShop offers a wide range of e waste recycling and e waste disposal options. Electronic waste is anything that has a battery or a power plug and is no longer wanted or in working order. These items must be disposed of correctly or you run the risk of someone stealing your identity or other private information. However, electronic waste disposal is no longer accepted at landfill transfer stations due to environmental risks and must be recycled appropriately.

Don’t be a victim of identity theft or fraud; make sure your electronic waste recycler is destroying your data effectively. We can help you do that easily and quickly. Please check the E Waste recycling brochure for more details.

How we prevent Environmental impact

Our business supports sustainable environmental work practices. All waste is recycled wherever possible. Upon request, we will provide an environmental report to confirm your contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Hard drive degaussing

Degaussing is a process which renders magnetic media (such as hard disk drives and backup tapes) completely unusable and damages the storage system so it cannot be reused. Australian Government Information Security Controls recommends degaussing as the preferred method for hard disk drive sanitation.

What we do with your E waste disposal

Recycling IT equipment utilising various methods of disassembly can reclaim precious metals for reuse and divert redundant equipment from a landfill.

We are currently a resource partner with Planet Ark who innovatively recycles plastic materials into raw material and uses them in common manufacturing process to make new products.

Precious metals such as copper, zinc and steel are sent to specialist recyclers across Australia for melting down and upcycling.

How we collect your electronic waste disposal

We provide our clients with lockable DocShop media collection bins for in-office disposal which provides you with the secure knowledge that your electronic information is continually being protected.

If you have bulky items that will not fit in a bin, don’t worry. We provide secure collection for those too. Our fully trained staff will provide all equipment needed to transfer items onto our dedicated Doc Shop document transportation vehicles and deliver them directly to our destruction facility.
